Matt Rehme is a software engineer at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, specializing in data visualization. He began his career in the biotech industry after studying Biology at Colorado State University. He then earned a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins University, and soon applied the principles of big data processing and data visualization toward his current role working with weather data. Matt is also lifelong artist, focusing on oil painting and drawing; he applies his knowledge of color and design to the representation of scientific data. He enjoys hiking in the Colorado Rocky Mountains with his wife and two daughters, drawing artistic inspiration from the scenery in this beautiful area which he has called home for most of his life.
