Biography
Ramon Amela Milian is a Master Student in Research and Innovation in Informatics - Data Science (MIRI - UPC). He holds a Bachelor on Computer Science (FIB - UPC, 2016), a Bachelor + Master of Engineering on Civil Engineering (ETSECCPB - UPC, 2016), an Engineering Bachelor in the Mechanical department (École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées - ParisTech, 2015), and a Master of Science in Mechanics of Materials and Structures, MMS (École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées - ParisTech, 2015).
During a year between 2013 and 2014, he worked as a full-time structural engineer for the French nuclear industry. He did his MMS' Master Thesis in the research and development department of EDF, concerning the numerical modelization of reinforced concrete. Since October 2016, he works at BSC in the Workflows and Distributed Computing group as a Junior Engineer.
His main interests are HPC applications and workflow scheduling policies. At BSC, he has worked developing linear algebra kernels, machine learning algorithms, and bioinformatics applications. Also, he has contributed to the development of the COMPSs scheduling engine.
