Biography
Torsten Wilde is a senior HPC research scientist and research manager at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ), Germany, and is currently on sabbatical at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). He leads LRZ’s research activities on energy efficient HPC data center design and operation with focus on developing methods to improve energy-efficiency across the entire data center, from infrastructure to application scheduling. He is part of the leadership team for the Energy Efficient High Performance Computing Working Group and currently serves as the Workshop and Conferences Co-Chair. Torsten is member of the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE) Technical Board and deputy of the LRZ representative of the PRACE Board of Directors. Torsten received his MSc degree in parallel and scientific computation from the University of Liverpool, UK, in 2000 and a Master’s of Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.(FH)) studying technical computer science from the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, Germany.
