Sean Dettrick leads the Computational Modeling group at TAE Technologies, Inc (https://tae.com/), a venture capital backed company focused on the development of commercial fusion energy and sustainable solutions. He is Lead PI of an INCITE project on the simulation of stability and turbulence of field reversed configuration (FRC) plasmas. Sean specializes in developing HPC codes for fusion plasmas, primarily using kinetic methods such as Particle-in-Cell and Monte Carlo, with an emphasis on practical application of codes and synthetic diagnostics for interpretation and prediction of experimental behavior. Sean received a PhD in theoretical physics from Australian National University, after which he worked at Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, and University of California, Irvine, before joining TAE.
