SUMMARY:Benchmarking Scientific Reconfigurable / FPGA Computing
DESCRIPTION:Birds of a Feather\nTech Program Reg Pass, Exhibits Reg Pass,
Exhibits - Exhibit Hall Only Reg Pass\n\nBenchmarking Scientific Reconfigu
rable / FPGA Computing\n\nCappello, Boku, Herbordt, Maruyama, Putnam...\n\
nIn the past three years, FPGAs have gone from niche components to a centr
al part of many data centers worldwide. But while many use cases match th
ose of traditional accelerators (e.g., AWS), most of these millions of new
ly deployed FPGAs are in other configurations such as smart NICs and stora
ge architectures. A central problem in advancing HPC with FPGAs is theref
ore developing new benchmarking methodologies. In this BoF, leading resea
rchers from industry, government, and academia will showcase cutting-edge
FPGAs applications related to HPC and propose evaluation metrics. Discuss
ion will aim at creating a new benchmark. Audience participation is highl
 y encouraged.
