SUMMARY:Scalable FPGA Deployments for HPC and DC Applications
DESCRIPTION:Workshop\nAccelerators, Heterogeneous Systems, NVRAM, Workshop
Reg Pass\n\nScalable FPGA Deployments for HPC and DC Applications\n\nHagl
eitner\n\nFPGAs have recently found their way and niche in large-scale dat
a-center (DC) applications, eg, for endpoint encryption/compression, video
transcoding, and genomics applications. We present two research projects
that address two remaining roadblocks on the way to scalable performance a
nd energy-efficiency gains: The cloudFPGA project proposes a disagregated
FPGA architecture for scale-out applications and near-memory computing pro
ject uses openCAPI-attached FPGAs to tear down the "memory wall" for HPC a
 nd DC applications.
