SUMMARY:Title: Distributed Memory Fast Fourier Transforms in the Exascale
 Era
DESCRIPTION:Workshop\nDiversity, Education, Hot Topics, Workshop Reg Pass\
n\nTitle: Distributed Memory Fast Fourier Transforms in the Exascale Era\n
\nAseeri\n\nIn this project, we plan to improve the implementation of the
Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) on emerging high-performance computing archit
ectures and galvanize the international community of experts to benchmark
our and their efforts, leading the faster and more efficient adoption of t
he best FFT software Technology.\n\nFFT is an accurate low computational c
ost algorithm that is widely used for high-performance computing and engin
eering applications and it will still be needed on exascale computers. The
implementations of the FFT (and other fast transforms) require many long-
range interprocessor communications, which are a parallelization bottlenec
 k. Therefore, the identification of alternative algorithms to the FFT alon
g with comparisons of efficiency will lead to optimal use of high-performa
nce computers. In this lightning talk, I will highlight the project object
 ive, approach, and expected outcome.
